Rich Internet Applications (RIAs)

Apto Solutions’ interest in this arena is in using the RIA technologies (primarily Flex and AJAX) to create Web Product that is more attractive, easier to use and as a consequence more productive than traditional approaches to building electronic forms.

Building attractive forms with plain language instructions increases the probability that they will be completed with enthusiasm, rather than under sufferance as is often the case. Forms that are easier to use are more likely to be filled in accurately, with less recourse to help desks. As a consequence, the cost of owning these forms is lower than it is for the traditional formats, HTML and PDF. That is not to say that we can do away with these formats – our solution designs frequently combine the RIA approach with HTML for users without Flash technology, and with PDF where a ‘hard copy’ form is mandated.

We are able to use these technologies without compromising Accessibility, allowing public sector clients in particular to provide electronic access to services that are both modern and accessible to all.
