Creation of a Business Process Automation Portal

Summary

The brief we were given was to deliver quality assurance services for an in house developed business process automation portal at the same time create custom development.

Background

The client is one of the world's largest scheduled airlines. They have over 40,000 employees globally. In an initiative to improve the efficiency of the personnel administration of their UK based workforce, they decided to implement a Business to Employee portal.

Solution

After selecting Adobe's Form and Workflow server, a proof of concept was undertaken to ensure that the product was compatible with their exacting architecture. Once it was proven to work, in house staff developed a functional specification that was in the main implemented in house. Once we had QA'd the implementation, we then developed various customisations that were needed.

Development

Following the initial commissioning of the system, potential enhancements were needed. Apto Solutions developed a custom web portal that was enhanced for extranet usage, designing customised ASP pages.

Success

The key to the success of this relationship was our wide ranging technical capabilities, enabling deployment of an off the shelf product in a highly specialised environment.
